Hackathon in memory of Liram – Innovation saves lives
On July 23, 2024, Liram Daniel, a 15-year-old boy, curious, creative and full of love for technology and sports, was killed in a tragic sports accident at his home. Out of the pain and loss, an initiative was born that takes tragedy into hope – the Safe in Sport hackathon – designed to save the lives of children and youth, so that similar tragedies will not happen again. The hackathon took place on May 25, 2025 at amdocs headquarters, in collaboration with:
WideOps, NVIDIA, Google, Betram Organization, SAGA, Reichman University and Code for Israel under the great patronage of Amdocs.
The event was attended by students from Liram’s school, grouped with first-class developers, technology experts and mentors. Together, they developed innovative solutions to prevent sports accidents among children and youth – with an emphasis on the home space and its surroundings. The selected solutions will be forwarded for further development and implementation in the relevant bodies. The goal of the hackathon was not only to produce life-saving technology, but also to convey a message of hope, responsibility and love – in the spirit of Liram.
